Luke + Faith = LOVE

I had such a fun time doing engagement pictures for Luke and Faith last year. I thought Luke would be shy and uncomfortable, but he broke out of his shell and we had a blast. Faith, well Faith is just awesome!

I decided to post some older pictures from the last two years for portfolio sake.

Here are some of my favorites from a shoot with Lauryn. I have known Lauryn for a decade and a half and watched her grow from a girl to a woman. She is near and dear to me, and now she has her own clothing line and stylist company. I'm so proud of her!

It's a start!

Well, I have finally done it. Finally, I have come to the conclusion to start a photography business. Bring in some extra money for the family all while getting my creative juices out. I was raised by a dad who studied photography and married a man who studied film and lighting. Its all around me and in my blood! I've had a camera in my hand or purse constantly since I was in junior high school. Seems like a perfect idea, right? Except that it sort of terrifies me! I know that sounds silly. But there is a distinct difference in taking pictures for myself as a hobby compared to photographing someone outside of family for pay. And there is always that moment - in any of my creative processes: writing, scrapbooking, photography - when I have a crisis and think I'm horrible at whatever is in front of me! But its all a process, right?!

So here it begins. And in the same month that I published my first novel. (Jade Can't Be Blue, available on Kindle and Nook...in case you were wondering :)  Plus, I am ghostwriting a minibook while being 5 months pregnant with my fourth beautiful child. I know, I know, I'm practically crazy! But it's all things that I love to do, and isn't that what they say? Find something to do that you love and you won't have to work a day in your life. So these are the things that I love. Family, writing, photography.
